San Blas Islands

The San Blas islands on panamas carribean are truly a tranquil paradise. 370 islands with nothing but sand and palm trees, and the Kuna Yala people.

Me, the captain and the first mate.

The Kuna own all the islands, and you stay with them. Beautiful place, but the accomodations are ROUGH. really bad food and poor beds, but worth it. The plumbing is top notch though!

The bathroom is just down the hall...

I swam out to that one

On the way back to Panama City, I pulled the classic 'pass out on a stranger's shoulder' move. Making new friends is great!

A man, a plan, a canal...

Panama! It's the longest palindrome I know.

Panama City was impressive, a far cry from other Central American cities. It looks like it's the next Hong Kong, glass skyscrapers everywhere.

Cara in Panama Viejo (old panama)

been having a little car trouble, but got it straightened out with an alignment tune up and a new tire. Cara reads while sherry's on the lift.

Panama city from Casco Viejo, the old part of town where we stayed.

Bocas Del Toro, northern panama

I still love coffee

Had some fun with the macro setting on cara's camera one day at the beach

We ran into Rob and Ele, who had rented this funny mini quad for the day.

Beach cruisers!
Cara's famous dimple!
Snorkel time!
